Mathematics Department

The Mathematics Department is guided under the philosophy of the constructivist approach the teacher being the facilitator creates a child centered classroom, where the needs and interest of the students are considered. The teacher plans lessons to arouse curiosity and pushes the student to a higher level of knowledge, bearing in mind that education is not a product to be learnt, but a process which continues throughout life.

The focus of all teachers is to help students develop the ability to apply mathematical knowledge to the solution of problems. In the process they learn to be critical thinkers. This learning is most effective when it develops out of a familiar situation. The students can then more easily realize and appreciate the need for the development and application of new principles.

This in effect will allow our students to become more equipped to play a major role in society.
